March 2018 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Supporters–

About a year ago, you came together in a tremendous showing of support to purchase a house in Kingston that would become home to young pregnant women who needed a safe place to live and the hope of a different future.  Because of you all, sufficient funds were raised to purchase that home in cash.  Many of you  generously began giving monthly, and many others offered their time and talents to prepare and furnish the home to welcome these young women.  Your unfailing support has been so encouraging and uplifting to us.  Thank you so much for walking with us in faith.  We learned, recently, however, that the owner of that home has had a change of heart and we will not be going forward with that purchase.  While this is an adjustment, we know that the Lord is in control and we trust that his plans for Faith House will come to fruition in his time.  The word spoken by the Lord does not return void, but accomplishes its intended purpose.  We have resumed our search for a suitable home and trust that we will be able to share good news soon.  Please continue to pray for the Lord’s provision and guidance.  We appreciate your continuing support through this time.

When we began this ministry 4 years ago, we set out on a journey with one intention– to be faithful to the call and vision the Lord has given us.  It is in that spirit that we persevere and trust him.  It is also towards that end that I recently resigned my full-time position as a nonprofit administrator to become the first Executive Director of Faith House.  I am very grateful to now be able to dedicate all my efforts towards opening this home and ministering to the many women and babies that will one day live there.  A big thank you to the Faith House Board of Directors for countless hours of discussion, prayer, and hard work, and to all of you, our faithful volunteers and donors, who have given so much of yourselves towards this mission.  We absolutely would not have come this far without each of you.  One of my initial goals is to meet and get to know more of you; I will be reaching out to schedule time to get together. So, we press on in faith, knowing that the Lord has great things in store!

In Christ,

Linda Arzu
Executive Director

Welcome new Board member Pete Maraday!

We are so excited that Pete has joined our Board! Pete and his wife Barb are longtime volunteers and have brought so much to Faith House! In addition to serving on our Banquet Committee last year, Pete was instrumental in establishing our relationship with the Lighthouse Events. You may remember Pete and Barb from our banquet video last year. Pete cares deeply about providing alternatives for women facing unplanned pregnancies and seeks to further the prolife cause through “education, guidance and support that is built on a foundation of love and caring through Jesus Christ.” Pete served over 20 years in the US Air Force and currently works as a tech support analyst, giving him a solid foundation in organizational management. He is active in the leadership and other ministries of Bread of Life Assembly of God in Bullville. Says Pete, “I hope to be able to use my time and talents God has blessed me with towards assisting the Board in completing the work at hand and seeing our mission through.”. We are so happy to have you, Pete! Thanks for everything you have done and for your heart to serve!
